To Register: Civility as a Practice: Building the Muscle for the Moments that Matter
11:50 AM - 1:00 PM
Presented: Avalon Events Center OR Virtual
Speaker: Jenn Graham
Program Summary
Led by Jenn Graham, founder of Inclusivv, this interactive Lunch & Learn turns the tools introduced in Level Up How You Show Up and Level Up Your Conversations into real-world practice. Working together at their chapter tables, participants will tackle common workplace scenarios involving feedback, tension, miscommunication, and conflict—and explore how different responses can either escalate a difficult moment or move it toward greater understanding and accountability.
Using tools such as Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the GRACE model, and Confront with Care, participants will practice applying the frameworks to situations where there may be no perfect response. Table discussions and facilitated debriefs will give participants the opportunity to learn from one another, test different approaches, and consider how they might respond when similar situations arise in their own workplaces.
Because civility isn’t something we simply understand, it’s something we practice. Participants will leave with greater confidence navigating difficult moments with clarity, curiosity, care, and accountability. Each participant will also receive a Civility Practice Guide with the frameworks, prompts, and practical language from the sessions, giving them a resource they can return to as they continue practicing these skills in everyday workplace conversations.
