The Power of Hope in Engaging and Retaining Employees

To Register: The Power of Hope in Engaging and Retaining Employees

Thursday, June 5th at 8:30 am, presented via Zoom.

Speaker: Dana Haagenson

Program Summary & Key Takeaways:

Did you know that 69% of employees who say leaders help them feel hopeful about the future are engaged in their jobs; compared to 1% engagement of employees whose leaders don’t help them feel hopeful about the future. In fact, 2025 research from Gallup shows that hope has now surpassed trust as the most mentioned characteristic of positively influential leaders. In this session, we will explore what Gallup defines as the four needs of followers – of which hope tops the list. We will then explore practical, everyday actions leaders can take to help instill hope within their team.

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the 4 core needs of followers

2. Define hope and it's critical connection to employee engagement

3. Explore practical, everyday actions leaders can take to help instill hope within their team

4. Identify ways leaders might inadvertently diminish hope within their team
