Program Summary
Workplace safety is one of the most difficult issues to deal with as a business. When we talk about workplace safety, two issues that come up consistently are drugs and violence. This presentation will provide you the necessary knowledge to utilize your observation skills to identify drugs and potential violence in your workplace.

Speaker Biographies
Lt. Joel Vettel is a certified law enforcement instructor for the state of North Dakota. He holds certification in over twenty law enforcement courses. He has developed over 10 certified courses that are currently taught to law enforcement personnel. He lectures extensively on the issue of workplace violence and workplace safety. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University. He received a Masters degree in Management from the University of Mary. He is a 2009 graduate of Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety “School of Police Staff and Command”. He is a 2013 Graduate of the 253rd class of the FBI National Academy. Joel is currently assigned as a Lieutenant for the Investigations Unit and as the department’s Public Information Officer. He also represents the department as a board member for several non-profit organizations including the United Way of Cass-Clay.
Re-certification Credit
This session is approved for 1.0 HR (General) credit hours toward PHR/SPHR re-certification through the HR Certification Institute.
