Program Summary
The legal landscape of the U.S. workplace is ever-changing and keeping abreast of current legal developments is vital to employers. At our January 7 meeting, we will spend an informative hour covering key developments in employment law as well as issues of current concern for employers and HR professionals. Come prepared with questions and get answers from not one, but two employment law experts without the hourly fee!

Speaker Biographies
Lisa Edison-Smith of Vogel Law Firm practices exclusively in the area of employment and labor law and litigation, and is a MSBA Certified Labor and Employment Law Specialist. She focuses her practice on providing practical advice to North Dakota and Minnesota employers on a variety of issues related to human resources, discrimination and harassment, employment compliance issues, wage and hour law, employment contracts, policy review, hiring and termination, and employee benefits. She frequently provides training on harassment and other current issues in employment law to employers throughout the area. Lisa also represents employers in labor matters and arbitrations. Lisa is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law and received her undergraduate degree in accounting and business administration from North Dakota State University.
Nora Kaitfors is an associate in the Minneapolis, Minnesota office of Jackson Lewis LLP. She practices in a variety of employment litigation matters, including drug testing law, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, wrongful termination, retaliation, FMLA, ADA, and employment compliance matters. Nora also assists clients in obtaining resolution of disputes through mediation, and provides training on a variety of topics including the FMLA, ADAA, discrimination, harassment and wage and hour compliance. She is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

This session is pending approval for 1.0 General credit hours toward PHR/SPHR re-certification through the HR Certification Institute.
