Program Summary 

A series of practical online resources/websites will be described, accessed, navigated, and explored. Websites will focus on those most useful for HR compliance, best practices, and keeping up to date as an HR professional in a fast-changing world. Participants will leave with information and website addresses for each site.

Learning Objectives

This will cover the following topics:

1.      Participants will learn how to determine which federal labor laws apply to their organization.

2.      Participants will learn how to access occupation and compensation data from state and national databases.

3.      Participants will observe varied website navigation strategies.

4.      Participants will ascertain how to distinguish varied website objectives that may or may not align with their own organizational objectives. That is, we will explore how to determine that a website is worthwhile visiting!

About the Speaker:

Professor Jane Pettinger is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She is currently working as a Human Resources consultant and educator.  Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Paseka School of Business has capitalized on her Human Resource Management expertise in the classroom since 1989. Professor Pettinger is responsible for the successful launch of the Executive Mentorship program in the Paseka School of Business in 2013. She also coordinates internships and other Experiential Learning student opportunities. She was named the MSUM Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society Chapter Honoree in Spring 2020 as an outstanding community professional. Professor Pettinger’s professional mission is to Improve Human Resources.
