Presented by Melissa Swenson

To register: Business Analytics of Human Resources: Using Data to tell the story and drive the business impact

Program Summary:

Datafication, making changes to your business to be a data business, how you store, analyze, and monetize information at your fingertips. Our roles as human resource professionals are changing, HR professionals are being engaged to help build and tell the business story based off data analytics. According to Forbes over 60% of companies are investing in ‘big data’ and analytic tools and requiring their HR teams to be more data-driven. With human resource professionals being a part of this movement, they are twice as likely to have a seat at the table because they have the ‘data’ to make decisions and the information that is being provided has true potential to change the business. With this progressive movement, human resource professionals are being embedded into the business and being a source of information (data).

Learning Objectives:

  1. Telling the story: how is data useful and why is it important to HR and business operations?
  2. Building the story: What are basics for understanding the important factors of data, how do you know ‘what’ data you need or want to measure, and where do you go to get it? How do you build the story?
  3. Sharing the story: Data, data, data, what to do with all this data? You have the data, now what? How to compile data so that it can be distributed to various channels in your business to tell the story.
  4. Story Impact: how HR can effectively share the story that will support business and HR outcomes (examples: putting a business case together, ROI, attrition/retention, etc.).
  5. Start a community: how to engage others in the organization to use data analytics to share their story and support business needs which will impact all areas of the business including HR.
