Program Summary:
This presentation will cover the basics of how to address domestic violence issues in the workplace, including how to best assist victims, address perpetrators, and how to craft organizational policies to address the issue.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will gain an understanding of the impact of domestic violence on the American workplace.
2. Participant will learn about the basics of primary prevention of domestic violence.
3. Participants will learn about the importance of addressing domestic violence on multiple levels of the socio-ecological model.
4. Participants will gain knowledge around how to craft policy to address domestic violence in their own workplaces.
About the Speaker:
Daria Odegaard has been on staff at the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center since 2004, and currently serves as the agency’s Education Coordinator. She is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead and earned a Masters in Strategic Leadership from the University of Mary in 2014.
Kathy Smith has been on staff at the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center since 2001, and currently serves as the Director of Prevention and Education. Kathy earned an MSSW from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
