Program Summary
We spend the majority of our waking hours at work, yet studies show most people are least happy when they're working. In this session, Sundog CEO Brent Teiken shares his experience and insight to explain how a values-based culture can lead to employee engagement and greater satisfaction, how employee happiness translates to improved performance and increased profit, and how Sundog is leveraging their company culture to hire top talent and earn their spot as one of the nation's best companies to work for.
Speaker Biography
Brent Teiken – Brent has served as Sundog’s CEO since the company’s inception in 1995. In this role, Brent works with senior leadership to set the company's strategic direction, oversees the company's financial and business operations, and leads the effort to sustain an innovative and values-based company culture.
Prior to founding Sundog, he was employed at Great Plains Software (now Microsoft). Brent earned his B.A. degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, and MBA from the University of St. Thomas School of Business, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Under Brent’s leadership, Sundog has been nationally recognized as a Best Place to Work by Advertising Age in 2011 and 2012. Sundog also ranked on the list of Inc. 5000 for fastest-growing companies in 2012 and 2013. Additionally, in 2012 Brent received the Marcus Buckingham’s Leaders Leading Leaders Award, recognizing 25 of the most innovative leaders across the US.
He resides in Moorhead, MN with his family and enjoys spending time at the lake, reading and sports of all kinds.
